Katie ka- waaa??
Katie Ka Boom was this great Anamaniacs bit (you know, the Warner’s, Yacko, Wacko, and the cute one, Dot?) which was a cartoon series in the early 90’s. If you missed it, you missed out. Youtube, asap.
Okay, so camera pans into a nice quiet house in Anywhere-town, America, and you see Mom, Dad, and little Brother talking nicely in the living room. You know, on the blue couch, Mom is knitting and Dad is reading the paper. And then Katie Ka Boom walks in. Everyone goes on edge because something, anything, could set her off. And it inevitably does, and then Katie takes the shape of a giant green monster, “I AM NOT OVERREACTING!”
The sirens go off and Mom, Dad, and little Brother go into their bunker, donning army gear as they try to talk down their emotionally explosive, hormone-irregular teenage daughter.
It’s hilarious.
Anyway, this blog is kindof in the same vein. I care a lot about sustainability, food security, and the urban food issues facing LA and the world. So this is the space to BOOM about it all. Whatever that means.
